What are the different types of warts?

There are different types of warts that have been identified. Each differs in shape and the area in the body that it affects. Here are the different types of warts and a brief description of it:

• Common Wart – this type of wart is a raised wart with a rough surface. This type of wart can be commonly found on the hands and the knees.

• Flat Wart – this type of wart is small and smooth. Its color is flesh or tanned and can occur in large numbers. This particular wart can be found commonly on the neck, hands, wrists, knees and even on the face.

• Filiform or Digitate Wart – This type of wart is a thread-like or finger-like wart. It can usually be found on the face particularly on the lips and near the eyelids.

• Plantar Wart – This type of wart is a hard lump that can be painful in some cases. It will often have black specks on the center and can be commonly found on the soles of the feet.

• Mosaic Wart – This type of wart is a clustered plantar-type wart. It can usually be found on the soles of the feet and on the hands.

• Genital Wart – This wart occurs on the genitalia.
